What is a cash flow forecast?

A cash flow forecast estimates how money moves through a business over time. It focuses on when cash is received and spent, which can reveal a future cash shortage even when the business looks profitable on paper.

How to use it

  1. Enter the cash balance you have at the start.
  2. For each month, estimate incoming revenue.
  3. Enter expected cash expenses for the same month.
  4. Watch net cash flow and the rolling ending balance.
  5. Download Excel when you need a longer forecast or a file to keep.

Why use it

How the calculation works

For each month, net cash flow equals revenue minus expenses. Ending balance equals the previous month’s ending balance plus the current month’s net cash flow.

FAQ

Is my data uploaded?

No. Calculator values stay in your browser. Analytics sends only the tool name, language and a fixed event type.

Does the Excel file contain macros?

No. The workbook uses normal cells, formulas and formatting only.

Can I use the Excel file offline?

Yes. Download it once and keep using it without this website.

Can I change the currency?

Yes. Select USD, EUR, RUB, or GBP on the page or in the Excel workbook. Changing the currency only changes the unit label, not the amounts or exchange rate.
